Literature Text

My roommate the penguin
Likes to be called Fred
He prefers the room cold
And puts ice in his bed

He wears a tuxedo
To work everyday
And likes fish for dinner
Bought fresh from the bay

He'll have his friends over
And throws big parties
Which can end in a mess
But he always says sorry

I won't ever complain
He pays the bills on time
Which is quite a bit better
Than my roommate the mime
I felt like working on something light hearted and fun. I discovered this poem lurking in my insomnia journal, unfinished and poorly neglected. I brought it out, found it's ending (which was hidden inside my head this whole time), re-wrote it, re-wrote it again. Re-wrote one line 5 bazillion times because it just would not sound right and ended up with a poem I really enjoy.

Haha, that's cute. You did a nice job with the rhymes; they didn't throw off the rhythm for the most part. And I love the last line, haha.
